Variations of Female Condoms
Female condoms are limited in quantity, only made by a few manufacturers including
nitrile, which is cheaper than polyurethane and was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2008.
Another type of female condom is called the VA w.ow. Condom Feminine or VA. Made of
latex, these condoms are widely used in such countries as Brazil and Indonesia to avoid spreading HIV. Because they are made of latex, these condoms are cheaper to produce and shorter than their polyurethane alternatives. However, using them with additional lubricants can cause the latex to break down.
