StubsStubs are ShopWiki guides that have not received the full attention of the ShopWiki editors and do not contain enough information to be considered complete buying or gift guides. For the most part, these guides are short and require significant additions to make them useful to the ShopWiki user. The community values stubs as the first step toward creating complete and detailed buying guides.Basic InformationStubs are articles that need significant information added to make them useful as a buying or gift guide. The importance of stubs is clear it tells us what our community is looking for in terms of guides and information. If an article clearly has no meaning or is dealt with in another ShopWiki guide, it will be deleted or merged into another article. Once an article has been sufficiently expanded, the stub message will be removed. Currently only users with administrative access have the ability to make an article a stub or remove the stub message. If you think an article should be labeled a stub, deleted or be taken out of the stub category, please leave a comment on the page or email us at editor@shopwiki.com. Note that a short, concise guide does not need to be labeled a stub if it gets a clear point across. Conversely, a long, wordy article without sufficient useful information can be labeled a stub. When to Create a Stub ArticleIf you are searching for a product and are sure that there is no buying guide to accommodate your search, you may want to to begin one. When you write a stub article, keep in mind that the goal is to begin something that will be expanded by the community, and thus needs to contain enough information to give a basis for expansion. This will be considered a call to action for the community to fill a need. Please include a comment that you intended the article to be a stub, so others can expand upon it.
