Although some may view home brewing as the first step towards developing a problem, the beer world, myself included, agree that learning to brew is the first step towards being really awesome. Whether you've tried every ale known to man or you're just looking for a cheaper way to drink, this can be a fun and rewarding hobby. And hey, if you manage to make something tasty, you could start selling it and become the world's best selling microbrewery. Well...maybe not, but I won't crush your dreams. Enough talk. Lets make some suds because I'm getting thirsty. Cheers!
Choose Your Beer
Before you run out and purchase ingredients, you must choose what style of beer you want to concoct.
To learn about the different styles of ales and lagers and to see examples of each beer, take a look at

Equipment
You're going to need quite a few accessories before you get started, but just remember, this is an investment. Most of the items listed below come standard with
home brewing kits.
Ingredients
Now you'll need some ingredients to make your special mixture. A brew kit should already have these ingredients. I would recommend buying a book (I suggest a few later on) or looking for recipes online.
